@koviac As for the relevance of picking your own subjects in grade 9. If a student chooses math they had better be prepared to think logically. Calculus and trig are not things to take lightly when they're that young. Some students take Maths because they're pushed to it. My entire class is an exercise in logic. It helps if they do things physically and not only theoretically. It makes life so much easier on the student. I've never had a student fail the governments exams (grade 10 TO 12).

@koviac I am a mathematics teacher... In South Africa, students get to pick what subjects they want to do at the end of grade 9. I'm not sure if you do that.
Mathematics is logic, it's not a matter of x's and y's. This puzzle is logic. I forgot to mention that when I had my ps2 I made the puzzle for myself too. Back then it was out of board. Now I made a fully functional wooden one. It has varnish and moves quite smoothly. (btw I can solve a rubiks cube too)
