My dad was a field medic who served from 67 to 68, he got half a Vietnamese grenade stuck in his leg and had to go back after the shrapnel was taken out. He also got to drive a tank and a jeep, and got to save his best friends life.

I served with the 116th AHC from Sept.1966 to Oct.1967 supporting the 25th Inf. Div. in Cu Chi. The Hobo Woods, Michelin Plantation, the Iron Triangle and the Black Virgin mountain were familar LZ's. It was not a resort area. God Bless all those who served and especially my brothers who did not make it home. RV

Neil Higgins, my deceased uncle, served with this unit at this time. He was a fine person and his war experience drove his future life. He cared much for all life after the war. He is one of the greatest individuals I have known personally.

I was there in '66. never saw the pool, the fun times other guys had at base camp. however, i did get a good foot tour of the country side and lots of B1A's. propaganda is such a sweet diversion from reality. i really like the ones the viets now show when depicting the fine engineering of those trap doors and the artificial foilage. i don't recall the sofistication but i do recall the reality.

I was in cu chi for 1 year april 68 to april 69 at the 20th trans company it was fairly safe till the vc shot rocket and motars in and they tried to overrun the base camp a few times, I was lucky I worked on choppers and had it better than the fighting men of the 25th infantry they had it hard.
