President Obama said his meeting with the House Republican caucus was "very productive." He said there are differences in philosophies but he is confident the economy will be dealt with.

I agree. Conservatives look to Reagan as a standard of fiscal responsibility, but he was a big spender. I don't think anyone who sits at the head of an over-sized central government will take actions to shrink their domain. I've been reading a lot lately about state's rights, and I am beginning to believe that the only solution to our nation's problems is in the hands of the people we put in our state governments. Power will be returned to the citizens only when the states refuse national rule.

Plenty of people were bitching about it during Bush's terms, also, but I guess it got drowned out by all of the bitching about matters of less importance. The Republicans pretended to offer it, and Obama pretended to embrace it, and none of them will EVER let it happen. Politicians live on pork, and pork can only pass when it comes as a "rider" on another bill.
