Tom ran for around, if not over 900 yards as our Fullback in 1985. Plus had quite a few receiving yards. And that was in an offense that boasted Doug DuBose as the Huskers feature runner at I-back. Paul Miles had quite a few yards as his alternate as well. Doug had around 1,300 yards that season.
Most of the NCAA realized the forward pass was legal in the late 19th century or early 20th... It only took Nebraska about another century to figure out the passing game was there to stay haha
Not that sticking to the ground really seemed to work out too badly for them

Used to hate hitting his ass in practice. Broderick Thomas didn't bring it no where near the likes of Tom. Man did he fuck my back. Shit still hurts.
