Garrett Daun from Creative Deconstruction presents exercise 1 of 31 secret tools for self-evolution, growth, personal development, and experimental living.

This is a slightly more in-depth exploration of face stretching and a discussion of possible results you may get from doing it. Try doing face stretching 3 x per day for about 5 minutes each time. I notice more and more how my face reacts to various situations, and how it helps to program/influence/determine how I feel inside. When I feel upset, angry, or frustrated, my face muscles correspond in specific ways.

Then, when feeling any specific way I do not wish to feel, I stretch out my face, and the feeling dissipates over a shorter amount of time. I remain more aware of what is going on. It becomes easier to see and understand where other people are coming from.

Look around a room full of people and notice their faces. See if you can grasp what they communicate through the face, without listening to the words. Notice what you communicate as well.

When you stretch the face, include: eyes, nose, lips, tongue, brow, forehead, cheeks, and even the ears a little. Stretch the face very slowly. Enjoy the process. Notice what goes on in the rest of your body too. When you finish with 5 minutes of face stretching, take a moment to close your eyes and sense and feel the effects it had on you.
