With a borrowed camera, a notebook of contact information, and a lot of energy, I traveled from the Southeast to Los Angeles, DC, New York, Seattle, Vancouver, and Portland with the aid of generous friends. Pilots lent me buddy passes and friends housed me on couches and floors. Inspired by Millard Fuller's foundation of Habitat for Humanity and The Fuller Center for Housing, I set out to learn how other people across the nation let their social values overlap their professional lives. I talked with everyone from Congressmen (in the airport), to international rights activists, television producers, historians, artists and monks. This low-pixel version of my footage includes Dr. Margaret Brand, who lived and worked in a leper community for over 20 years; Eric Haney, producer of 'The Unit;' Congressman Lynn Westmoreland; Thoth, one of New York City's most iconic performers; and Fr. Anthony, a Dominican brother whom we met at breakfast in Portland. Missing from this clip is the most inspiring interview with the the late Millard Fuller. This journey was enlivening, hopefully the first of many to come.
What were your thoughts on Eric Haney? I read his book. "Inside Delta Force" I have been dying to see this guy in an interview.
