Americans who say they approve of the way Obama is handling his job as president are most likely to say it because he is "doing a good job" or "doing the best he can under difficult circumstances" (31%) and those who disapprove are most likely to say it is because he is "spending too much" (24%).

Thank you. That's exactly right. People think we have a two party system but we don't. We have a one party system that's called the Big Government Party. On one side, one wants wars, less civil liberties and high deficits; the other wants giant welfare entitlements, high taxes and higher deficits. They are corrupt and work in collusion because of the special interests involved as you described. Until people wake up and realize this, we will have the same bs every year.

  • This nation is stupid the so called socialist accusation has been going on for a while it's just now that people are opening there eyes however they haven't realized how long it's been going btw it's also corporations controlling government not just government controlling economy which leads to fascism

  • Our President is a Loser! He makes Us look bad.

  • Hey Obama, where are the JOBS?

How is that stimulus JOLT working out for ya?

  • I mean that Americans are, and have been historically, split about 50/50 between Republicans and Democrats. If you include the "somewhat" approves and disapproves, Obama's support is at about that 50/50 level.

This is business as usual in American politics.

Those who "strongly disapprove" of his performance represent, mostly, the Republican base.

So there's nothing new or surprising here. If you are gloating over his drop in popularity, I suggest that it's nothing worth gloating over.

  • What do you mean?

  • And what percentages "somewhat approve" and "somewhat disapprove"? I just looked at that same reports on Rasmussen, and if you include those it's about 49/49.

In other words, party loyalties are re-asserting themselves, and those opposed to Obama are passionately opposed.

    Nothing ... new ... here.

If you're an opponent of Obama, sir, I suggest you stop gloating at a business as usual position.

  • The majority of amerivans does NOT approve of the job he's doing.

"The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Monday shows that 30% of the nation's voters now Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Forty percent (40%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -10. Yesterday and today are the only time that Obama's Approval Index ratings have fallen to double digits in negative territory."
