A female giant prickly stick insect moulting. The average speed is 5x with some time lapses. The entire ordeal took about an hour.

Accompanying music is by the Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble (song: Pearls for Swine).

  • are they any signs that they are going to moult mine hasn't moulted in like 3 months its tripping out so badly

  • @Bongingon If she finds a secluded spot where she won't be harassed, and sits there for a few days doing nothing, there's good change she will moult soon. You have to make sure that she can find a place to hang from, where she will have at least twice her length of clear space beneath her.

  • so cute! what food do they eat on wintertime?

  • @monjanse in winter they can eat evergreen maple leaves or bramble leaves, also pyracantha stays green during winter and they are fond of that.

  • there is a nymph his mother over 3:15

  • @vuurwerkfreaker that is actually a psg-1 nymph :)

hope my insects can grow to adults @@

  • Moulting looks kind of painful :U

  • @Bongingon

have you ever consider that about its living area or maybe what you give it to eat.

give it large area were it can move around.

And give it thin gumb leaves or if you want it to give it somthing it enjoys eating give its a couple of rose leaves not the rose petals but the rose leaves .

  • I want to play to Diablo...

  • @velocysauron naa dont be just leave it a while

  • It still facinates me, to this day, how they can double in size, or even triple, in about an hour.

  • @Bongingon it might be fully grown

  • mine own has moulted for three hours but it is really old. should i be worried?
