Sesame Street - Fairy Alphabet

Beautiful alphabet vignette from Sesame Street circa the late '70s. Better known as "Madrigal Alphabet", this was animated by Jeff Hale, also known for the Pinball Number Count, The Typewriter Guy, and the Ringmaster series, according to MuppetWiki.

The music was composed and performed by Carla Piper. You'll find her many wonderful projects for kids at Soundpiper Music:

I still cry when I see this. This is so so very beautiful. Right after my son was born, I had this song playing in my head and when I saw my son yawn for the first time.  He yawned right on cue to when the angel lands on the moon, yawned, and put his head down. GOD was talking to me. Thank you to whoever made this.

Simply gorgeous. It's always struck me as a very melancholy piece. Even as a kid it was calming and mesmerizing, and somehow sad.

Oh, I remember this well. I remember the man in the moon scaring the living snot outta me; he just looked like he was going to devour me in his gaping maw. Even watching it now as a grown man gives me the creeps
