F404-GE-400. This is one of two engines that the F/A18 uses. We test them and give them a final look over before they go in the aircraft.

  • I am so old I used the Shaw estes in California in 1980 . J79 . Hush house and free stand . That led me in to ECM in 1982

  • Jet engine is really powerful. I've seen the experiment which was to get the evidence how po\werful the jet engine was by using a car. The result was miserable.

  • @q123477 Those are "shock diamonds". The air is moving at or above mach and those are the shock waves created by faster-than-sound speed.
