Developed by Hudson Soft and based on the famous "Felix the Cat" cartoon character who first emerged in 1919, this game was originally released on the NES, where it was an above-average, simple platformer. The Game Boy game is mostly identical to the NES game, but has fewer levels and less graphical detail and seems even easier, so I'd call this one pretty average by Game Boy standards. The story deals with Felix trying to defeat a mad professor who has kidnapped his girlfriend, Kitty. Using a number of magic tricks, you go from level to level collecting Felix icons to build your magic power while fighting enemies and bosses. When Felix collects enough icons, he can use his magic to transform into more combat-worthy forms, which are temporary. If you run out of magic power (which slowly runs out can be replenished with items... it's a throwback to Wonder Boy and Adventure Island) or get hit, you'll drop a level in power. This is a video showing the first world. Enjoy.
