We believe this to be the first Afro-Centric Labyrinth design in the United States. Its founder, Almetto Howey Alexander, and the artist she chose, Tom Schulz, speak on this extraordinary spiritual pathway. They discuss the inspiration for the project and for the artistic interpretation. Mrs. Alexander has been trying to fund the building of the labyrinth in Charlotte NC since 2002. She needs our help if she is going to walk the path she envisioned. Please donate at http:www.almetto.org. Thank you!

  • I have to comment on the Almetto Howie Alexander Labyrinth Foundation video. Oh my goodness! I was moved to tears. What a wonderfully modest, yet poignant presentation. The story of how the goal of building a labyrinth began—the chain of events, analogous to a spiral (as I believe Mr. Schulz alluded to)—is beautiful in its simplicity and hopeful in its appeal. Did Mrs. Alexander say she is 89 years old? What an inspirational (and lovely) woman! Talk about the difference one person can make!
