  • So tell me...What other shows are going on in your area? And are you auditioning for any of those?

  • @dbp67wv We are currently rehearsing The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940, which I am not in, and our last show of the season will actually be two Chekov one-acts that I will also not be auditioning for because of the timing.

  • Another theatre in the area will be doing Fiddler on the Roof, which I will most likely audition for because I did it in high school and absolutely loved the experience. What else do you guys have in mind so far? I'm on the slate to direct something next year and am looking for good shows. I directed Enchanted April last year, which is really just a wonderful little show if you guys like to do British plays. We do!

  • @dbp67wv @dbp67wv No problem! I appreciate your comments. I have the theatre passion too, and although I've never done it professionally, I do love my community theatre involvement. Please feel free to send our clips to other members of your group if you think it will help. One reason I post these clips is so that other theatre groups and other actors can see our interpretations of different shows. (and for my own out of town relatives to see me perform!)

  • @AngelSong76 Thanks so much for posting me on this. I have a passion for theater, even shortly attended the National Shakespeare Conservatory in New York, and it means so much to me to be able to do all kinds of theatrical work. I think you info will be enough to give me a good base to start from with my little group. Thank you, thank you, thank you...and keep up the good work!

  • I was trying to link a wikipedia article about Fairhope, Alabama for more detailed demographic info, but it won't work for some reason. But you should be able to find it via google if you want details. Sorry!!!

  • @dbp67wv Thank you so much! It really was fun. Our community is pretty "artsy" and our audience tends to be older (in the 65-85 age range) so we try to be careful to appeal to them if we can. But our actors tend to be more in the 20-45 age range, so appealing to both demographics can be challenging. This play actually garnered interest from all ages.

  • @AngelSong76 Well, let me just say that you played Bandala wonderfully! I'm so glad to hear of your success with this show. I'm hoping to get this one in our line-up, past some of our more conservative minds. Yeah, in theater...go figure! Anyway, what is your community like? What are your demographics? Parkersburg, WV (that's my home) can be hard to read sometimes, so I hope to find some comparison. ;-) Dave

  • @dbp67wv We did 9 shows and all were sold out. Word of mouth was great. The audience had a really good time and so did the actors. Playing Bandala was a lot of fun. About three months after the run ended, we took one of the songs to a regional arts competition and won with it. So yes, it was very well-received.

  • Just curious, how was this play received? I've read the script, and I just loved it.
