  • 1:28 - 3:51 is the most ethereal music ever written (in my opinion). Even after hearing this piece hundreds of times it never fails to take me into another world. My eyes fill with tears, I can feel a warmth flowing through me, I feel humble, joyous, if I was religious this would be the sound I hear when entering Heaven. Great recording too.

  • Contessa perdono, perdono, perdono ~ sooooooo beautiful!

  • The Solti Figaro was considered to be a masterpiece when it was first released, especially beloved by the British critics. I don't much care for it personally, though there are beautiful moments; such as the finale as heard here. The conducting of the score is brilliant, the singing is first-tier, but I'm very picky about who is singing Figaro. Samuel Ramey's voice is too dark & better suited to the role of the Count. Ramey was singing Don Giovanni at this time!
