The Double-Edged Sword is a video documentary that follows two individuals (Chris Cockrell and Brian Kelly). Chris wants to gain weight and Brian wants to lose it. One common goal . . . a Double-Edged Sword. Click our username for our other videos in the series.

WEEK 2 RECAP: Two weeks down and still rolling strong. I'm modifying the program a bit, adding some new concepts and getting a bit more scientific.

  • I know it sucks man, I went from 165 to 225 in 2 years. But i'm so glad now I stuck with it. People even accused me of taking steroids lol. Consistency is key

  • Those are some pretty serious gains! I'm looking for a pound a week, but two would be nice.

  • @TheDoubleEdgedSword If you want to gain while keeping lean, a pound a month would be better, or 2 at most. That could be anywhere in between 25-50 pounds in 2 years. That isnt bad

  • Good job, man. Looks like you're really determined and doing this right. :)

  • Dude, it's protein . . . not steroids or even creatine. The fact is that if you want to build muscle then you HAVE to take in enough calories and enough protein to gain. Most people need 1g to 1.5g of protein per pound of bodyweight each day to really build muscle.

  • oh ok.

    thanks.

    but can i take

    those protein powders??

    coz im only 16:)

  • Good luck to you bro I know how it feels to be skinny (but I'm glad I ain't fat!) right now I'm about 150 it sucks ass being skinny (for example not fitting in some certain clothes that you like or not being able to play certain sports) but I'm trying to put myself on a diet and hopefully I'll gain atleast 15 lbs in a couple of months..if you got any food suggestions I would glady appricieate it.

  • Yeah, dude. Whey! If you don't know what I'm talking about then go to any supplement store and look at their selection of protein powders. Most will be whey. Some will be soy, but that's usually used by women.

  • whey???

  • Milk protein, also known as casein protein, is high quality protein but whey is really the cornerstone of any bodybuilder's protein consumption. Milk protein is absorbed slowly into the body so it's usually good to use right before you go to bed so that it can work throughout the night.
