Red parry - NO life gain

Even two red parries won't make your lifebar green again, so...

I heard throughout the web that in Street Fighter III you could recover a little life if you red parry something. If it's real, it doesn't work on the Xbox version, AFAIK. You're all free to prove me wrong, though... Please do. ^^

of course you don't regain health. When you take a hit from a special move when blocking you get chip damage, regardless.

I think the mistake was with CVS2. In that the red K groove gave life if you did just defense.

This is coming from a real source.
You're right, you do NOT gain health from red parry. It's merely there to allow you the chance to parry through block stun.
The rumors you heard were probably from players who got mixed up with Capcom vs Snk 2, in which any character with K-Groove style can "Just Defend" (which is similar to parrying), and are capable of regaining a bit of health once succesful.

Thank you for clearing that up. I was pretty sure of it myself, but after some serious insisting by some fellow message board members, I decided to try it out anyway.
