Short and simple explanation of the LDS or Mormon doctrine of the Godhead, or the Trinity. I don't own any of the art, I just found it using GoogleImage Search. Enjoy! Ask questions if you want!

  • Ahwri, I love you but I'm sorry I often feel I need to take you to task. Don't you think it is ironic that you are using images from the Catholic Church here in this video that show the Father the Son and the Holy Ghost and yet you seem to think Catholics see them differently than you do. I was raised Anglican we were taught the trinity but I always understood them as three people just as you do. Partly because they were always depicted as such as you have illustrated with this video

  • I think we're not on the same page here--every Catholic I have ever met (on YouTube and in real life) believes in hypostases, or three personas but one Being. It's the same for Lutherans, Presbyterians, and just mainstream Christians. You are out of the mainstream for having believed that the Godhead was three Beings.

  • How the Father, Son and Holy Spirit are one Triune God is a mystery but it does not take away from the FACT that the Father is not the Son, the Son is not the Spirit, the Spirit is not the Father but they all are God. This is Catholic Doctrine, the images in YOUR video ARE Catholic! What more do you need to get it. You are arguing semantics.

  • I'm sorry this is upsetting you so much--I'm using the beautiful art to furnish an illustration to my beliefs, nothing more! I don't mind that they are Catholic, I like most religious art, whether it is Mormon, Catholic, Protestant, etc. I think I state very clearly what I believe in this video. Am I unclear? Then let me know! :) If your qualm is with the art, then it has nothing to do with semantics, only preference.

  • I merely stated that, as an Anglican who didn't believe in the Trinity, you weren't mainstream. My beliefs aren't mainstream either! I didn't mean it as an attack on you, my friend. Mainstream Catholics believe the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost are one Being--just ask Exodus314IAM. I believe the Godhead is three Beings, and he disagrees. Take care! :)

  • MY POINT IS YOU ARE USING CATHOLIC ART to teach something about Mormonism yet you don't RECOGNIZE THAT THE ART SPEAKS FOR IT'S SELF, FATHER, SON, HOLY SPIRIT it IS the SAME thing you believe. Don't listen to whackos on YouTube, the trinity is a construct, it is not BIBLICAL. Most of this Art was commissioned by the Church, it tells you all you need to know about what Catholics/Anglicans believe about God and Jesus.

  • I used the art on purpose :), because I thought it did a great job of showing what I believe. Pictures are powerful. So, I think we are actually agreeing on that point (I would have used Mormon art in addition to it if some had come up in my Google Image search; I just love art!). I think what I don't understand is what is upsetting you, rd.

  • Luke 6:12 "Jesus spent the whole night praying to God" if you believe in the trinity then you think he spent the whole night in prayer to himself? sayyyyy whaaaaaat..... this is why i think Jesus and Heavenly Father are two separate beings . why would he pray to himself,

  • please explain this to me,in the d&c prior to 1921,the mormon "Godhead "changed a few times in "the lectures of faith"(the doctrine section)once it stated the same as the regular mainstream version of Christianity but then it was de-cannonized.Why do mormons deny that the lectures of faith that was the doctrine in the d&c as scripture when this is brought up? I have a lecture by james walker in my favorites that explains it if you care to watch it.plz respond!!!

  • I understand how you are trying to define that they were "one" in spirit, but when Alma 11:26-29 Amulek tells Zeezrom that there is only one"true and living God" which of the three Gods in the Mormon god head is not true and/ or living?

  • LDS is a bastardized version of Christianity.you're slaves! Really, a handshake is your final code into heaven. I'll pray for you that you won't have to spend all time in hell.

  • If the Trinity was a valid theory, these scriptures wouldn't make sense;

    Colossians 1:2-3

"To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ which are at Colosse: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you." We pray to his father for he is ours, his God and Our God.

(Compare John 20:16-17) We pray to the father in the name of Jesus Christ; but we worship the father in his name.

  • religion is stupid.

  • So were they all trippin' on acide? Acts 7:55-56 55 But he,being full of the Holy Ghost looked up stedfastly into heaven,& saw the glory of God,&Jesus standing on the right hand of God,56 And said,Behold, I see the heavens opened,& the Son of man standing on the right hand of God.Heb. 1:3 Who being the brightness of his glory,&the express image of his person,& upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high

  • 1 Tim. 2:5For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ JesusJohn 8:38I speak that which I have seen with my Father:and ye do that which ye have seen with your father.john 17:11And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.John 8:38 I speak that which I have seen with my Father: and ye do that which ye have seen with your father

  • xreaper99x....

im a Bible believing Christian. The Christian church (The people not the building) believe - Jesus is G-d in flesh

    (Isaiah 9:6 & John 1:14)

    Become born again (John 3:3)

by turning from Sin (what you know is wrong) and trust in the Christian G-d and Savior.

    Hell is real.

  • The context of this passage makes it clear that the issue being addressed is not one of general theology but rather a very specific and practical command to recognize YHWH as Israel's only god and the only god to be worshiped.
