is there a place for sim card in iphone?

Yes there is a small hole on the top. you insert something thin like a pin and the sim cover pops up so that you can insert your sim card.

I think that the hole is for a memory card. not for the sim card.

Nope this is definately no memory card hole cos a memory card would not make my phone make phone calls :} also the fact that a sim card fits and a memory card don't, sort of concludes issue...
