Why does no one ever identify themselves?! Sagan asks them to every single time!

@profsat5 The future may look dim, in America; however, there are many foreign countries that are focusing on the sciences such as China, Japan, German, and most of Europe. So if Americans cannot develop a respect in the sciences and philosophy you could always move to countries that have more respect along with a brighter future for scientists.

@CrazyguiRafaruto sorry but how does it seem bright for science? not to be rude but I think its fare to say the darker common society gets the less it will use and therefore fund science for meaningful purposes, i don't think we can have a bright science in a dark society, the less they care about science the less money they'll give to support it lol

@astronivo20XX I sympathize... and I envy your teacher! Although Carl and I shared the earth for quite a few years, I also never saw him in person. How I would have loved to be his student! In a way, of course, I was. Through Cosmos, his books, and these wonderful videos, he teaches me still. Indeed a great man. The world needs someone today with his rare mix of attributes: intelligence, vision, skepticism, open-mindedness, knowledge, skillful communication, enthusiasm, wisdom, and compassion.

Most young people I know are not interested in science much less a man named Carl Sagan. They love the lottery and being rich like their favorite sports or music idol.
The future looks dim.

I like how he immediately demands the first speaker identify himself lol..."Halt. I am Lord Sagan of the Cosmos. Identify yourself, Humanoid!"

I asked my astronomy teacher if she's ever met Carl Sagan. She said "many times" and that her husband was his student. I felt closer to Sagan for some reason. Great man! I am just very unfortunate to be young because I won't be able to see him in person. :(

I find it so difficult and frustrating to know that people of my generation (im 20) now Know Jersey Shore'Douchebags name and life; and dont even know M. Sagan...
The future seems bright for science; but ... so dark for common society.
(excuse my english I am from Québec; so i usually speak french)

"Could you identify yourself?" = "HOW DARE YOU ADDRESS THE ALMIGHTY SAGAN IN SUCH AN INFORMAL MANNER!"
