  • I have been fascinated with Machu Picchu...and know one day I will visit it. I am not sure why I feel that. Enjoyed watching your video :)

    Sunbeam :)

  • It is an extraordinary place where a great benevolent spirit is palpable - it is beautiful, it is like heaven on earth...

  • Hey, This is a very powerful video. You are indeed very talented the combination of the music and the shots.... Was surprised to see The cat in Peru i thought I was in Egypt for a second???? Thank u for posting

  • thank you for yours and everyone's appreciation! the cat is the puma. the spirit of the forests and the animals is very important to the mythology and creation story of this region (as in all ancient cultures i.e. pre-christian). it is said that cusco is built to honor the puma and you can find diagrams of the city's layout to be very similar. this image of the puma was found in the main square in cusco where the two main cathedrals are.

    (continued in next comment)

  • also, waynupicchu, the big mountain behind the ruins of machu picchu is also referenced to the puma - if you look carefully, you can see a face in the mountain, and a body leaning to one side on the right, on the left hand side the smaller hills are in the shape of a bird - a condor. i found the image of the puma in the central plaza of cusco and made a metaphoric overlay connecting ancient and contemporary times - man's physical achievements come and go, but spirit always seems to be alive.
