RTTC 8 Press Conference

On Tuesday February 2nd the Right To The CIty(RTTC) ((a diverse coalition of organizing groups from around NYC)) targeted Mayor Michael Bloomberg at an address he was giving to NYC business leaders entitled "The Future of New York". RTTC coalition members interrupted the mayor's keynote address chanting "THIS IS WHAT DEMOCRACY LOOKS LIKE" , and attempting to deliver a letter to the mayor demanding that he meet with low income/poor New Yorkers and not just those from the business community. Subsequently the protesters were removed from the room and escorted out of the Hyatt. A smaller group of 6 reentered the Hyatt under the impression that they would be able to have the groups voices heard. They were then detained and arrested, another two coalition members went in to negotiate with security and were also arrested. This video is from the front of the courthouse the next morning where coalition members gathered to DEMAND that all charges be dropped and that their comrades be released.
