U can be saved and not allow urself 2 to walk by faith & be sanctified by d Word which results in your not being holy is what i meant and that is what is going on among christians in this endtime generation.
you are right on my choice of words. it shudn[t hav being 2 types but what i wanted 2 bring out was this we r imputed righteousness at our acceptance of Xt Jesus & d ongouing process of working dat salvation out is what i referred 2 as ongoing process of righteousness or sanctification & the end result is holiness just as d result of our salvation is righteousness of God.
@destinedtoreign1 hmmm No where in the scriptures do u have RIGHTEOUSNESS being described or recorded as two types..NO! Righteousness is righteousness and there are no levels, types or forms of righteousness or 'being righteous'...Scriptures never juxtapose Righteousness with Sanctification or vice versa go check n prove it...in tryn to find a way to incorporate d movie script pls beware of 'esigesis'......we shouldnt confuse 'Righteousess with Holiness'....
@destinedtoreign1 ****** if the script had employed Heb 12:14 to say "Salvation is the passport and Holiness is the visa" It may be scripturally correct , but to describe a '2nd level of righteousness' is not true! likewise it is not correct from all sound exigesis that u can be saved and not be righteous! let me just add that in our pursuit of God this is the pattern u find; Righteousness, Holiness, Perfection
@destinedtoreign1 at salvation u r declared Righteous (just like u said), the sanctifyn work of the word is what leads/produces/results in HOLINESS....having said that, after being declared Righteous by faith in Xt Jesus, our work of faith (which u talked about) includes us working out our salvation/righteousness (it is salvation that is synonymous to righteousness cos righteousness is d product of salvation) by feeding on d word which makes us Holy via its sanctifyn power...if the script....
the 2nd is the righteousness referred to in the movie, this righteousness is sometimes referred to as sanctification. This is a process, work of faith. that is the righteousness Apostle Paul talked about when he said we should work our salvation with fear and trembling. d work here is of faith. remember the Bible says the righteous shall live by faith and without faith it is impossible to please God. so it is possible to be saved and not be righteous or sanctified.
Salvation is the free gift of God to mankind through faith in Jesus. Now you have 2 types of righteousness. the 1st is the imputed righteousness that you have at salvation through faith in the blood of Jesus, that is the righteousness of God imputed to everyone who gives his/her live to Christ (Rom.521-26). Now the 2nd is the righteousness through sanctification which comes by the washing of the water through the Word (Eph.5:26)
What a playful family..lol. :p
