Representation is supposed to be about American tax payers having a voice in Congress " We the People", and in DC, we do not. This perfectly illustrates America's hypocrisy!!

I don't object to American Samoa, Puerto Rico, Guam, or any other US terriroties, having the right to vote, I just want them to abide by the laws in doing so, and I mean abide by the law, not circumvent it.

Good point. And if a non-state gets representaion what would keep America's other territories from have votes?

The Bill is UnConstitutional. I fully support voters rights, but it needs to be done according to the rules. The Democrats see it differently, they apparently only champion the rules they agreee with. As Senator Akaka has stated the Congress feels it has the right to change the rules when as as they deem necessary. So the Dem plan is if your don't like the laws simply change the rules of how we make the rules.

A bill to give the U.S. taxpayers who live in the District of Columbia a voting representative in the House of Representatives had majority support in the Senate today, but it wasn't enough to overcome GOP obstructionist tactics. The bill's 57-vote majority was three short of the total needed to end a Republican filibuster. Taxation without representation continues.
