The beautiful states of New Jersey and New York. The terrain begins to become less flat in these states, no matter what the guidebooks say. You'll see some different animals that I filmed both in the wild and at the Bear Mountain Zoo. That was an amazing place. I recommend it even if you're not hiking the trail.

  • Same thing happened to me on a day hike recently, I could tell when the bear first saw me he was curious. Had i not made a loud noise immediatly, he would have approached me.

  • That can be a tough thing. I had my own unpleasent encounter with a bear in maine but it was late at night and I did not film it. I'll talk about that during the recap of the entire trail. Thanks for the comment.

  • Bears. Scary, but they are more scared of you than the other way around.

  • Good work on the trail! Does the AT go across that bridge?
