If you play back when he had his contact with it you'll see the transition begin.

you'll see when he took boon out to the part of the island where he made him face the fear.

John Locke is NOT the smoke moster o.O

Ben killed him, he is dead.

The Smoke only transformed to Lockes appearance and used him to get to Jacob.

I remember the first time I watched LOST it was around 2006/2007. I had no idea what it was and my friend had the box set for series 1. The first 5 minuits of Pilot grabbed my attention! Can't get enough of LOST!

I didn't understand what the Smoke Monster wanted from Mr. Echo and why it killed him. Any thoughts?

Its part of the Island's rules i think, when he does that flash thingy its like taking a picture but he isn't allowed to take on their form while they're alive... or something ;P

@RenoWeHaveToGoBack Whose to say that he isn't still John Locke and that the John in the coffin isn't fake. I've never heard the Smoke Monster deny that he is Locke when people ask.
