I own a '72 Matador 2dr with a 304 and I love it. It gets way more looks than the run of the mill camaros, chevelles, etc. that everyone and their uncle owns

Those are some great AMC cars. Congrats!! I love car fans who aren't afraid to own something different. I love marketing, so I collect the audio-visual marketing pieces that these companies created. It's really interesting to me what these car companies said about themselves. The images that they wanted to project to their market. (It's also easier to restore and maintain than the actual cars themselves!)

I honestly don't think those three cars were that ugly. The Mataodor's timing was a bit off. Just as cars were getting square, they Teague went for slick styling...primarily for NASCAR usage. The Gremlin is cute and the Pacer is stylish, just strange proportions...but at the time, revolutionary although still ill concieved.

@GoneAutos Thanks, I do appreciate that. I own a 73 JAvelin AMX Cardin edition as well as a 73 Ambassaodor. I'll check it out. I've uploaded myself tons of Chrysler Introductary films. It's a lot of work converting it to a digital format. So I understand what youve done here aand really appreciate it.

@OsbornTramain Yup. All of the segments that you see about the '73 cars on this channel are from one product introduction film. They include the entire 1973 AMC line: Ambassador, Madador, Hornet, Gremlin, and Javelin. (It's not quite as good as the 1969 product introduction film, but it's a great slice of Americana circa 1973.) If you'd like the whole thing, see the discussion thread I've been having with a few people for the '73 Javelin clip.

you wouldn't have more of these films fro 73? like for the Ambassador????

I wish AMC was still around

Hopelessly dated by 1973 but still a great looking car. The replacement 1974 Matador couples were dreadful.
Everyone picks on the how ugly the Gremlin, Matador Coupe, and Pacer were. Okay. It seems to be culturally acceptable to hate on AMC's 1970's cars. But do you remember how ugly and bloated the Big Three cars became? Do you remember how Ford Fairmonts looked? Do you remember the Cadillac Seville? This board focuses on orphan cars, but do a search on YouTube for the ones I just mentioned. Then cut AMC just a little bit of slack. Especially with this Matador.
