  • plugs are temporary until you get someone who knows what the hell they're doing to patch it. patches I do are something that will be good for the life of a tire, I could drill a hole in the center of a new tire, patch it, and then mount it on a car and the tire will never have problems with that patch. only because I treat any tire of a customers as my own, I wouldn't want to be unssafe, so therefore I make damn sure that the driver isn't going to be hurt.

  • 100% guaranteed to leak again!

also makes the tiremans job alot harder when it has to be fixed properly, those thing suck to drill out. good for a quick fix but def not permanant

  • considering how close the nail or puncturing object was to the sidewall, I would definitely get that dismounted and looked at to make sure there was no sidewall damage.

and, plugs aren't permanent. also, considering that was almost in the shoulder of the tire, you might want to look at minor section repair for that injury.

  • I don't have a big-ass over-the-road truck but I have plugged plenty of tires. They always hold -- for awhile. Sometimes forever. Of course if you want a permanent repair use a plug/patch from the inside and put a bigger patch over the whole thing. THAT'S a good repair! And buff the shite out of the patch area. Use flammable glue and set it on fire. It looks cooler that way. Fire = Tire Fix. I fixed the sidewalls on two radial truck tires like this. Lasted 55K miles. Shocking, I know.

  • this hold only a short time and is not a real rep.!

    real made:

you must control the inside from the tire..

and when ok, rep. with vulkanisation from a profi!

  • You're plugging way too close to the sidewall.

  • u can burn off the piece so it melts a lil on the tire

  • NEVER PLUG A BIG TRUCK TIRE!

  • first and foremost BmxOhio you are 100% right nevr plug a radial tire Especially on the shoulder. and you never reem the hole with a drill if you dont go the same way as the nail or what made the whole it will leak and in the long or short run cause a zipper or seperation resulting in a blow out and new tire or worse harming yourself or the driver

  • thats weird that you don't use glue just the plug its self seals it. interesting

  • @ttboy125 couldnt agree with you more. I work at a tire shop and have to redo these all the time.
