Video describes "How to program a Toyota Ignition Key" to your vehicle's anti-theft computer. If your vehicle has an ignition key with a plastic backing, then it has an electronic digital chip inside. Most 1996 and newer vehicles have transponder chips inside the ignition key.

Learn the exact procedure for programming new Toyota ignition key. This procedure is only for Toyota. It won't work with another vehicle. Our video exposes you to this information using the best CG animation and Step-by-Step details. Remember, you must have one working key to be able to program extra keys. So, if you purchased your used Toyota or lost one of your keys, use this video and program a new key at a cost of $20 for your blank key, from any locksmith. Otherwise, if you loose your only key, then you'll have to replace the anti-theft module and program new keys at a cost of a few hundred dollars. We hope you enjoy our video and save money.

  • does it work for toyota vitz 2006?

  • @ADPTraining I wanted to know if this method would work with a brand new key for Toyota Corolla LE 2010?

  • I've found 2 comments on a Toyota-users chat board to the effect that after 2005, this method of programming the ECM doesn't work, and that we're stuck to getting ripped by locksmiths or dealers. Nor have I yet found anyone reporting success using this "pedal dance" for later model Toyotas... ugh. Still, worth investing in an aftermarket transponder key and trying, and will report my results, for a 2010 Yaris.

  • @blueyedboymrdeath Haven't tried it yet, I still have to get some extra key blanks. Only began researching this today, after finding out how #%@*! expensive new keys are! This video seems to be the most recent information on how to do this. I tested my only key, and it appears to be a master key according to the criteria I found, so I'm hopeful.

  • @sayadyan Did it work for you!

  • @thekeystone74

According to "Locksmith Charley" (website I found), if you put the key in the ignition and the blinking LED indicator for the immobilization system goes off immediately, it's a master key. If it stays on for a few seconds before going off, it's a "valet" key, not a master key. I'm hoping to activate some extra keys myself on a 2010 Yaris, and have been researching this.

  • Worked perfect on a 2002 Camry. I incorrectly hit the last break while the key was in the ignition and it worked fine.
