There was once a video on youtube just like this one....same set, same costume and everything only Natalie Dessay as Zerbinetta....what happened to that video??!?! I was obsessed with it. Dessay was incredible (just as Gruberova) But I would love to get my hands on it if at all possible!

Does anyone have Dessay in this production? That one Zerbinetta of hers was mind blowing.

she spent an entire year studying this aria with a professor from the opera house in vienna hoping they'd hire her for the role. it was karl boehm the one that "discovered" her and gave her a chance. from there on the rest is history!

Thank you for posting this! I saw the same production with Gruberova at Wiener Staatsoper last December! Audience went nuts. :)

It was absolutely unbelievable to see her sing this-she made one of the most difficult arias in opera look like a stroll through the park. Was the biggest treat anyone (singers or opera fans) could possibly have. Thanks for shariing it!
