great old gun!! i've got one that my grandpa brought home from world war 2. he really liked the size and weight of it compared to the 98's. its dated DOT 1941, my grandpa and dad used it as a main hunting rifle up until 5 or 6 years ago, now i just pull it out once and awhile to take a few shots and shine it up again. 71 years old and still shoots a nice group!

Are you really that "vertically challenged"?

Nice video, I recently got one for $250, a real steal. Thing is, its missing the top guard. Do you know if any other rifles share the same guard? Or where I could find an original?

Awesome rifle. I own one myself. I do not regret buying it.
The k98s could also have those type of bands they were called speedmilled and were used from 1942 to 1944. They replaced these bands with stamped bands.

@TheBobafett13 Which bands are you talking about, the barrel bands? Because yes in that case they went from milled to stamped parts towards the end of the war, those model rifles are referred to as Kriegsmodelle's.

@webeautos Thank you for the offer, but I'm having 25,000 worth of dental work done, so I have to curtail my gun buying for a while.
