I play a stuff like this right now because the rest of the kit is being refinished.
It is horrible because the tom is moving backward makes impossible to use double pedal.

Nothing. The pedal has velcro underneath so it doesn't move on a rug. I just placed it right in front of the tom, which is held with it's tom holder.

Thick head, loose tuning and a pillow for muffling. It sounds like that because of the acoustics of the room, put it anywhere else and it wouldn't work as well.
