  • Something else that gets overlooked is that God flat-out LIED when he said they'd "die this day" if they ate from the tree. Adam went on to live another 930 years! I should do so soon!

And if "death" is a metaphor for "separation from God", then just who was it who was always hanging around, yelling at Cain, patronizing Job, and giving Noah exercise for his cubits? Must have been a trial "separation". :)

  • The close relationship that Adam and God had ended that day. That is the separation.

  • weak answer :(

  • Give up your bronze age myths. Your god is imaginary. People simply adopt the beliefs of their parents. If you were born in India you would be a Hindu.

There are no magical gardens, talking snakes, people living in whales bodies, its all bull shit.

Imagine if i said i think Elvis is still alive. You would say well there is no reason or proof to believe something like that. When i say well i still believe it, you would simply laugh at me.

  • Don't know about you but my heart is a muscle that pumps blood

  • reincarnte - give another body to. That is the definition so that would mean that there was no reincarnation. Next, Blood must be sacrificed for the atonement of sin. The sacrifice must be an unblemished lamb. That is why Jesus emptied Himself and took on the form of a bondservant (Phillipians 2:8). Last, when the Holy Spirit convicts you of your lostness, you will believe. You can choose to reject it if you wish, but you will believe.

  • faith2overcome - Really? An "all-powerful" God impregnates a woman with himself in order to offer himself as a human sacrifice to himself - because he's unwilling (or unable) to forgive anyone for anything without killing an innocent man/animal first.

After his murder/suicide mission, God reincarnates himself and agrees to forgive anyone who believes the story... then he has others write a book about it, but he makes the book appear foolish to anyone who doesn't already believe the story.

  • Well, I guess I'm not surprised. God seems to be particularly ill-suited to making himself clearly understood by human beings.

  • I comprehend it; I'm saying THEY didn't. That's the point. You might as well put a six-month-old baby in a room with open floor-level windows and say, "Don't crawl to the windows, or you will surely die this day." The baby doesn't understand, and neither did they because GOD CREATED THEM THAT WAY. The fault, in this telling anyway, is with the dad who leaves the window open for the baby to crawl through, and the god who leaves the tree of damnation in the midst of his ignorant creatures.

  • That's what He told them. Just because you can't comprehend it doesn't mean that they didn't.
