  • it's not crying, it's not a baby calling it's mom, that's it's call. it sounds like it's saying "eric" near the end. Where I live, we rarely see it in the daylight, it gets active around sunset.

  • I love the catbird sounds its one of the best along with the chickadee...

  • grey catbirds go MMEEEEH.... MEEEWEEEEH :)))))

  • ERICCCCC

  • They usually only cry like that when they're pissed off, so you were probably getting too close to it's nest.

  • Great video, the commentary is unintentionally hilarious but probably exactly what I would have said!

  • thank u for posting this I have been trying to tell me coworkers about abird that sounds like it says MARY!!! and they thought I lost it lol

  • I think this is why they call it a catbird, it makes that crazy meow sound. I learned this the fun way the other day.

  • Now I see why they call them catbirds. They squawk like cats do! hehe

  • @pasfresh123 thanks for leaving that comment...I've always wondered which bird it was that was calling my name...and I just happened to try a google search "which bird call sounds like 'eric'" And it came to this page because of your comment. I was always sort of spooked by this bird, and when I started birdwatching, I've been wondering when I'd find out :)

  • Omg, i found this video cause i thought i heard a cat outsids e and i think its really the graybird cause cats dont make much noise

  • gray catbirds are awesome. their calls are funny and silly. i have 2 in my backyard in the warm months. those birds can fly right through a fence.
