This is a minimally edited video of some Commercial Snow Removal in Central Minnesota. Since we left this lot for last it held the total accumulation of the 2009/2010 Christmas storm for Central Minnesota. I'm plowing in my 99 Dodge Dually Diesel 5sp quadcab Longbox. Plow is a 2008 BOSS V-XT 9'2". This was a moderately wet and heavy 6-8"

  • The edge chip is not a smoke chip. It does change the fuel map and increase fueling/timing but to get smoke you are usually overfueling. I don't get much overfueling but the truck does smoke when I'm pushing mountains of the wet stuff spooled up in second gear.

Snow doesn't stick to the plow too bad because I treat the moldboard with a silicone product called Blade eze from Ricmar industries.

  • It used to be my daily driver. Now it is a purpose built rig that I use for towing and plowing. I have 258,000 miles on it and until recently I was putting 600 miles on it per 2" snow storm. I was plowing a large number of forecloasures for franny mae/freddy mac throughout an entire county. I was driving 60mph with the plow on between the 68+ sites with no problems and no breakage.

  • good ole fashioned plowing with a stick shift!!! bet its easier with a diesell...then having a chevy 305 hooked to a 4 speed granny.

  • I Imagine that 305 4speed granny box is shifty as all get out. I rarely get above second when plowing with the diesel. My only complaint with the manual is my top speed in reverse. It is painfully slow.

  • is this your daily driver?

  • hey does plow have snow stick to it alot? and how is it im looking to buy a boss v

  • Looks fun, I might put a plow on the ol 91 318 dodge. ahh prob not :(

  • oh thats cool did the edge ez chip make the truck smoke more?

  • Then there's HD liftsprings upfront keeping the plow sag to a minimum, Timbrens dampening sudden impacts/bottoming out, HD trackbar, balljoints, tierod ends, and u-joints keep it rolling smoothly. I think that's about it.

  • Thanks, I'm very happy with the truck. It's got a little work done to it, nothin really for performance or speed. All the modifications were done with longevity and plowing in mind.. An Edge EZ box helps with the efficiency and power, Airdog II lift pump supplies the fuel, ISSPRO guages keep everything in check, Homebrew CAI supplies air, 4" straightpipe vents the exhaust, and 33" Grizzly Grip tires give traction.

  • nice truck any mods done to it?
