  • No one knows for sure if Lewis and Alice were romantically involved with each. The pages from his diaries that would explain that period in both their lives mysteriously went missing.

The the two were more than platonic friends (as much research would indicate they were) it was not forced through the arranged relationships and it would have been a relationship shared.

Baring any untold harmful physical or sexual abuse, the story would be an interesting story for the silver screen, I think.

  • That is very interesting...and yes, the silver screen! Thanks for sharing this information!

  • Whether he was or not is beside the point. The point was did he act on it. Even if he did like Alice in that way, as far as we know he never abused her or did anything wrong to her, so it doesn't really matter.

  • Agreed Evil Twin. Carroll did have a intrest in young girls but it was all out of innocence. He was inspired by the innocence and purily of young girls. Alice Liddell was just his inspiration. He also had relationships with grown women so I don't know why people make him out to be such a monster.

  • Wow, at the end they seem like a couple cunts. I love how people talk shit about C. L. Dodgson before they do any research.

  • The photo of them together seems pretty legit in this video. Might be more of an UNHEALTHY, SICK interest than people think, poor little girl:

  • The most recent research would indicate the whole "Lewis Carroll was a pedophile" legend is precisely that--a legend. It derives from how vastly different our own time is from the Victorian and the misunderstandings arising from same.

  • All he did was love that child like a father would. He didn't do anything wrong with her at all. It was normal then to have friends Alice's age. All he did was love her, that's all.

  • It was simply love. And if people cannot accept that this love was for a little girl, this is people's problem.

  • True enough! It's very much worth mentioning that Alice and Charles remained friends until his death. And she was very much into adulthood by then. It surely doesn't sound like she had any animosity toward him.

Also, how many pedophiles are out there? I don't mean in prison, I mean out here in the real world? You could assume a great majority of pedophiles don't act on their interests; so it makes no difference whether they're attracted to children, dogs, trees, or their own mother.

  • I suppose she's just a bit hurt that her "healthy" interest in other women has not inspired her to pen one of the most celebrated pieces of art in literary history.

Typical man-hating dyke. : P She should be hired by Lifetime immediately! "Television for women...but only women who believe having a penis is the ultimate source of TEH EVIL!!!" : P
