What also calls my atention beside the beauty and color of Bernardi's voice, is the unbrakable "leggato" that keeps his voice flowing like a river. He really was a dramatic tenor tenor, will all the deep and still shining voice. BRAVOOOO!!!!!

@mradaChris He was trained as a baritone first. I would say this is what an excellent Heldentenor should sound like. Reminds me of Melchior.

@aaronsande He sounds more like a baritone than a tenor to me but then again it could be the "darkness" you mention.

These lessons are great to understand the transition from baritone to tenor.
Sr. Bernardi's tone is very homogeneous from bottom to top. The area of the passagio is smooth. I learned a lot, thanks to Maestro Pola and Sr. Bernardi.
