On a stormy Sunday (1st July 2007) and with central London experiencing a heightened security alert, I decided to head out to Alexandra Park - home of Alexandra Palace - with its views towards the distant towers in the city of London which is 6.5 miles (10 km) south of the park.In this episode, I take in a couple of shots of the palace building (these days not much to look at except for its circular rose window) and TV tower, then I turn the camera around to point south to central London.Alexandra Palace itself is no longer much to look at. A fire in the 1980s destroyed much of the building and it has only been partially rebuilt. However the historic BBC TV studios and (still operational) TV transmitter still exist. The tower was the first in the world to transmit TV pictures, from 1936

  • I used to spend afternoons laying on the grass of Alexandra Palace with the most beautiful woman that ever lived. God, to go back there.

  • one afternoon in May 2010, I spent there with the one I love. We sat on the grass, then he laid down on my lap. There's nothing else I want more than to be this way . he talked with his sexy Cockney accent, explaning about Alexandra Palace and the scenery (Canary wharf,BT Tower,London eye) From that moment I know, God has blessed me by introducing an angel from London to me ;p

i know what it's like to live around there. it depends how close to AP you're staying, but it's a nice area to be around. it kinda also depends what side of the palace you decide to stay on. it kind of acts as the divider between crouch end and muswell hill. it's a really nice place to stay :D

  • Nice video. I might be moving to this area in a couple of months - do any of you know what it's like to live there? Also, if anyone could name that piece of music that'd be great

  • Very soothing - I used to live not far from there (Colindale) with comparable views over London from the north. The video is also tinged with nostalgia I think (right, lltv?), as the day of recording was the 'first day after Blair', the prime minister of my years in England. I hated him for Iraq and all that (went on the march in 2003), I still do with a passion, and yet ... - England abides. Greetings from Leipzig.

  • Very well made, very calming great choice of music.See what you think of my slide show with stunning music on St Pancras and Islington cemetery.

  • where can i find this song who is it by

  • Nice video dude... ace!!!
