Actually, there is empirical evidence for evolution. A culture of bacteria was grown in a medium of two foods. One type of food the bacteria knew how to use, the other type it did not. After a while, the bacteria, through mutation and natural selection, developed the ability to metabolize the second type of food, and out-grew the bacteria that did not develop this type of metabolism. Face the facts, evolution is real and is happening now.

Hovind's $250k challenge is set up so that it is impossible. It requires proof that evolution (and other origins) occurred without god however evolution does not deny god(s) as Hovind himself acknowledges and infact he admits that it is impossible to disprove gods. Thus Hovind himself implies that his challenge is flawed and impossible to meet. Hovind describes "evolution" as cosmology and abiogenesis which aren't evolution, and his $250k challenge is a sham.
