  • ..i luv badminton..and im a player of that in our school, actually,i'm already practicing now for nxt compitions, will be played here in philippines..!!!

  • This is a great instruction video! its always important to develop strong fundamentals before trying any advanced shots (like the smash, which everyone wants to see and learn about on youtube it seems). The longer you go playing with improper grip, the harder it will be to learn the right grip, so always practise the correct technique!

Better you see Zao Jian Hua's video the former Worl Champion

Easy to understand and based on his experience as a champs

    Not like this moron.....

  • There are lots of video on youtube , I will suggest you guys to watch more videos on this topic and think of the theory of badminton before trying to practise any technique.

A good fundamental is the key of badminton, think twice. Badminton should be easy and relax , not stress.

  • Actually , I am kind of curious , seriously, do you really teach in this way ?

I am sorry but , I think teaching a beginner this way will affect his improvement in his's future. Learning should be made easy I believe.

  • If you choke up on the grip, it gives you more control and a shorter stroke = faster reflexes.

If you hold a longer grip, it gives you more power and a longer stroke = stronger shots.

In singles, I hold a long grip because I am alone and singles requires that I can cover the whole court and be able to clear from back court to back court.

In doubles I choke up on the grip because doubles is a game that requires fast reflexes a little more than power.

  • wow thanks, my backhand was really weak, the thumb added a heap of power. Great tip, should have checked it up sometime before :)

  • im using two handed backhand in badminton... cuz i fell more comfortable... does it matter?
