Coil tap on my gryphon makes that nice glassy tone center position.
-
coil taps are best for solo and twangy stuff. i haven't been able to find one to try here in america.

@DrumNBum Ahh the infamous coil tap.... I don't know about other manufacturers, but my tech tells me that schecter factory wires their hb pickups in sc. I argued, but he proved himself. From the factory, schecter coil tapping is backwards, when you pull the pot, you are getting the full HB tone, when it's pushed down, SC. Look at a wiring diagram and you gtr. Had all mine swithched, and then switched back lol.

@ScottysGuitar Personally don't like Schecter's 'paul copy...but then I'm not a huge fan of les pauls either. Like the looks of the c series, own 2 c-1 elite's and a c-1 classic with emg's. had a luth change the neck radius on the classic.. exceptional tone and versitility from schecter. nice chattin with you scotty, enjoy the guitar dude.

@theinfernalhess well this guitar isnt too bad but buying a guitar that is over 2grand isnt the most realaistic thing ever u know? im only 18 i have the money but im sure i can get somthing for just as good. ive found some used lespauls in the 90s and later for about 1200 to 1600 bucks on ebay they got alot of wear and buckle rash but itsstill a rocking gibson. im all about saving money but im not one to cheap out on quality. so this seems like a good compremise.
lol this guy doesn't know what hes talking about. This guitar, in the neck pickup is waaaaaay darker than a hellraiser with an emg.

@theinfernalhess thats a load of shit. The 59 is one of the brightest passive pickups on the market and there is no way that an 85 is brighter. 85's are extremely bassy and muddy sounding compared to the 59.

@theinfernalhess In australia, guitars are double the price that they are in the US. At the time models on the internet were around 900-1000 US dollars, so i figured why not just get it from a store that i could try out the guitar from. I got it a very good price considering usual australian rates.
