This is an adaptation of the folk song "Cariñosa".
This was a hit in Japan in the mid-70s, a bit later than the time Eddie Peregrina was singing in English the Japanese song "Yume Wa Yoru Hiraku" 夢は夜ひらく (Memories of Our Dreams).

The singer of this song was Chinese.

That's what I call cultural exchange!!!

The Japanese lyrics and the original folk song have very different meanings...

Enjoy!

  • Does any one know what the filipino version is called???!!!!

  • mizDevine, maybe Karinyosa.

The lyrics of this Japanese version (Anata Dakara) is not all equivalent to the Karinyosa lyrics.

  • a version of Ms. Pilita Corrales is available on YT.
