Blackmailing the President - Part 2

Concerning the personal friendship between Lyndon B. Johnson and J. Edgar Hoover.

Statement by Bobby Baker. He says that Lyndon Johnson told him that J.Edgar Hoover had 'extensive files on President Kennedy's omanizing', and that he hated both brothers.

To many people it was susprising that Kennedy chose Johnson to be Vice President. Evelyn Lincoln remembers parts of their conversation. The conversation they vowed to never disclose the information within.
She is convinced they were blackmailed. One thing was the claims of the President's womanizing, FED to Johnson by Hoover. "They were boxed in".

Boy, it's clear now that the forces behind Kennedy's assassination were planning it even before he was elected. Once these men knew that Johnson could not defeat JFK for the nomination, they did the next best thay they could. They blackmailed him into offering the VP spot to Johnosn, all the while knowing that if the ticket was successful in November, they would eliminate Kennedy in the first term and install their chosen man into the Oval Office. And that's exactly what happened.

The Hunt family of Texas was instrumental in getting JFK on the ticket. Allegedly made a deal with Joe Kennedy assuring LBJ would be on the ticket.

I think they had a plan from the start and knew that with all the crap hanging over LBJ's head that he'd be motivated to take part in the hit (Malcolm Mac Wallace) and cover up once in office. LBJ was controllable.

@esb84 Polls from November 1963 showed that Kennedy was very likely to be re-elected and that he had huge approval numbers. And Johnson was barely able to carry Texas in 1960.

@game3525 Actually, polls in November 1963 showed that Johnson was a liability to Kennedy, including in Texas where Johnson was not actually well-liked. And it's been documented that Johnson wanted Yarborough to sit next to Kennedy instead of Connaly - probably because Johnson knew Kennedy was going to be shot at that day.
