The Secretariat legacy is an amazing gift to horse lovers of every kind. Here is one of the amazing and legendary races of Secretariat at the last leg of the triple crown, June 9th 1973. This is one amazing horse. I created this video to share with the fans. Enjoy and cry for joy in such a miracle run. :)
I want to dedicate this video that I created to 2 wonderful horses that passed away in 2006-2007: Lost in the Fog & Barbaro May they live and run within our hearts forever. They are now with "Big Red" in a kingdom that any horse lover would love to see one day.

There will never be another horse like Secretariat,he holds the track records of all three triple crown races and his record at the Belmont may very well stand forever!

@RcDellena Sham and Secretariat had the same maternal grandsire, the wonderful Princequillo, brought over to U.S. fm Ireland in 1940 by ship thru rough seas infested with German U-boats. You shld all google Princequillo and select reines de course

@kwgrid while surging and then pulling up at end of the Belmont Stakes, he BROKE the record for 1 5/8 mi set by Swaps. Nack points that out also in the biography. I RECOMMENDTHAT ALL YOU YOUNGSTERS GETTING TO KNOW THIS HORSE READ Bill Nack's biography of Secretariat, The Making of a Champion. The description of this race is 8, yes 8 ! pages long, anticipating, tension filled, quoting a CBS executive in the crowd turning to a colleague and yelling... "he's gonna win BIG, Herb !"

I wonder how it felt for Ron Turcotte...the moment he let the reins go and felt that big engine kick in and REALLY take off. I envy him for that; it must have been the sensation of a lifetime.
