@felishamustafa - My thoughts exactly! Susan Boyle is good and she sang it well. But singing the song and performing the role are two completely different things.

I like that she gives a younger nature to the character, because Fantine doesn't live past 25, and is younger than that at this point (if I remember correctly.) I think she's doing the part of the distraught starving young mother whose life is falling apart pretty well.

(no offense cuz i love her) but I think u could take those comments to "i dreamed a dream- susan boyle" n im sure u would find plent of ppl to conversate with lmao. Y cant we just respect each singer for their own talents n get along cuz we all love Les Mis??? Im sure if we got all the past fantines together they wouldnt disagree as much as all these comments on this page lol hahaha

@yenglor2009 Second of all, Susan Boyle cannot be compared to ANYONE who plays Fantine, not because she's a bad singer (I'm going to withhold my opinions of her), but because she was NOT trying to play Fantine when she sang I Dreamed a Dream, and therefore she cannot be compared to those who do. Susan Boyle, with all due respect to her, took this song out of context. She was NOT trying to be Fantine, this woman is. That said, just let it be.
