I've struggled over the past few days to properly define her music. The best I could do so far is Blue Grass for the Intelligentsia. If you close your eyes and just listen to the melody, you'd swear the music originates from the Blue Ridge. By contrast her lyrics are as rich and complex as I've ever heard. These two seeming contradictions are interwoven with that absolutely beautiful voice, not to mention her cheery demeanor.
