He used to warm up before a game he pitched in by throwing a football for a half-hour or so. So when he grabbed a baseball, it felt and weighed about as much as a pea! Kind of like a batter swinging a weighted bat before an at-bat.

nolan didnt have the greatest mechanics it was just his stuff was nasty and he worked out way harder and did more effective stuff than anyone else in his time did. im not saying he wasnt great he was unreal its just he didnt have the greatest mechanics

@rpmpwnedu Nolan Ryan was left handed? Where did you get that. I have been a baseball fan for over 40 years and I have watched the Angels and the Dodgers, being from Orange County, Ca, and trust me, this is Nolan Ryan and he was, is, always has been righthanded! I saw one of his no hitters live, in, if I remember correctly without looking it up, 1974 verses the Minnesota Twins. I sat there with my father on the third base side of Angel Stadium, between third base and the foul poll.
