  • I have this conversation every damned term. My explanation is usually more succinct. "You got the grade you deserved and earned, now get the f**k out of my office"!

  • @winter32842 The fact that you think you tried hard does not mean that you deserve an A just for that. How cannot students get it? And the fact that another teacher gave you an A doesn't mean anything, since some teachers usually grade students better than they really deserve just to avoid having problems. If your essay was not good enough, the amount of time you spent on it has nothing to do. American students are so spoiled sometimes...

  • @digitaldan9876 right on.

  • To the student who thinks grading an essay is subjective. That's really not true. When grading an essay a teacher looks at things such as spelling, grammar, sentence structure and punctuation. We also evaluate the student's thesis statement, points of support and plan of development. Does the student maintain parallel construction and a consistent point of view. Have they cited their sources properly or provided attribution correctly? Do they build their argument in a logical way?

  • @winter32842 They just wanted to get rid of you so they wouldn't have to deal with red tape/a law suit. You should feel great knowing your degree is meaningless.

  • @winter32842

And naturally you're perfectly convinced that it was the latter professor who gave your paper the grade it deserved!

  • @TubbyBtch As I am a Straight A student and rarley B's. You're right, I took long writing an essay on "The Masque of the Red Death", by Edgar Allen Poe. I recieved a B and checked my neighbors paper, A-. I read mine; I then found out I deserved a C because of the lack of literary divices. Moral?: Teacher is right 99% of the times. Maybe the student in the video deserved a D. 16 yr. old Albert J. Pineda

  • why do students think RateMyProfessor is a valid threat? The students who post complaints on there are mostly likely failures anyway and if one does give a good evaluation, then the instructor is probably NOT doing their job and challenging their students and being rigorous.

  • Charlotte is probably writing a review on Rate My Professors right now about this professor. "It will be your fault when I have to move back in with my parents." - Hilarious.
