B&C Outdoors: Quail Hunting with Labradors

Here the B&C Outdoor Team is hunting quail with a labrador. While many people use pointers we chose to take this opporitunity to work a young dog on scent hunting and also shoot a few quail in the process.

Obviously you missed the whole point of the video, its a training exercise for scent training. And it's "Dead Bird", not "getabird", get it right can't get right.

I need some clarification on point 2. Are you having the dog heel immediately after the shot or after the retrieve?

Nice video my only issue is that you should try and train your dog to stop and sit on the flush, this would allow your gun to concentrate on killing the bird, the dog can mark it's fall point and retrieve. It would be safer for the dog, safer for the shooter and the English way of doing it and finally it would look awesome on the video as your dog would be under total control. Nice shooting!!
