I love this documentray...The Funk Brothers I know now...they are all magic.

@TheDigitalGuy1 Would there have been Motown without The Funk Brothers? I wonder. They were, and are awesome!
-
The Funk Brothers were a group of performers who played together and came together almost like a family. It was easy to see through their performances that they really enjoyed playing and spending time together. They were a great group who influenced music in so many different ways.

@Jloweish The FUNK BROTHERS were the studio musicians who PLAYED on the tracks - not the singers who made the songs famous - but without the Funk Brothers, there would be nothing great to sing over!

Thanks Jeff they were a terrific group of men. All were friends of mine. I am especially close with Joe Messina and speak with him often. I also sell his book Giant Steps from my site, Educational CyberPlayGround which is filled with music exercises that professional musicians want to work with. Joe is a wonderful man.

This film is very inspirational! The Funk Brothers represent the essence of Jazz. Undoubtedly the greatest influence to modern music. It is time the world finally know who these great men are. As a society, we need to start appreciating true talent and respecting those who perform with spirit.
