  • can you please help me understand how this is any different than just doing these normaly

  • Assuming that a hockey player has skill, simply improving grip strength will improve shot accuracy. These add another tool to the strength training tool box. You can improve grip strength with these while doing your basic strength training exercises--bigger grips require more grip strength to hold.

  • @tw1869 basically the stronger your grip is the harder your shot will be as well so when you have the strength to shoot at a certain velocity with less effort, you can focus more on accuracy instead of power in your shot.

  • @sbohandley Cumbersome and not accurate, you don't want to off set strength too much. It pays to go out and spend the $40.00 on pair of thick grips. I just purchased a pair or Tyler Grips and they are well worth the money. Thick Grip training is little known, and less understood. What it does is changes the strength curve, forcing you to contract harder through every degree of that movement.

  • wrapping towles would work well at home, but might be a bit cumbersome at a gym.

  • I have the $50.00 black locking grips with the finger inlets so they can hold on.

Love them and it has shown an improvement in grip strength. You can also use a grip plate loading lift.

  • don't buy this ppl, just wrap towels around the bars u'll be holding
